The Wind Ensemble is one of two auditioned concert ensembles at Norwin H.S. The Wind Ensemble performs the latest wind literature as well as the standards from the Wind Band repertoire.  

Students in this ensemble strive to play challenging music at the highest level possible.  The group is comprised of the top musicians within the Norwin Band and is decided upon by an audition process.

The Wind Ensemble can be seen performing at the Winter Concert, the Spring Concert, and the Spring PMEA Adjudication Festival.  In the PMEA Music Performance Assessments the Wind Ensemble has received Superior ratings since 2008.  The Norwin Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the 2023 PMEA State Conference in Pocono Manor, PA. In past years the Wind Ensemble has been performed at the 2011 and 2020 Youngstown State University Wind & Percussion Invitational in Youngstown, OH and the 2017 NAfME Eastern Division Conference in Atlantic City, NJ.

The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Tim Daniels.
