Congratulations to the Norwin Jazz Band.  They received the following awards at the Slippery Rock University Jazz Festival on Saturday, May 3, 2008:

       -Outstanding Trumpet Section

       -Outstanding Trombone Section

       -Outstanding Saxophone Section

       -Outstanding Rhythm Section

       -Three Outstanding Soloists Awards-Tim Stimach, Tim Daniels, Drew Herchko

 

Norwin Jazz Band

The Norwin Jazz Band is dedicated to one of the only true American art forms.  Comprised of students in grades 9-12 at Norwin, this ensemble plays everything from standard literature to cutting edge compositions in a variety of styles including swing, latin, funk, bebop, and rock.  The Jazz Band performs throughout the year at a variety of events & festivals.

These are the people who work tirelessly to maintain the tradition of excellence that the Norwin Band has maintained thoughout its history.

Fundraising Events and Activities

The Norwin Band has earned a national reputation of  "Excellence in Action."   Not only are the members of the Norwin Band instilled with the discipline it takes to maintain this reputation, but upholding this tradition requires a tremendous amount of funding to provide the necessary resources.
